Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a method of treatment obtained from ancient Chinese Medicine. Due to its safety and unique effectiveness, over the years it has gained much respect in the west.
Acupuncture therapy stimulates various systems of the body by the insertion of fine, sterile needles into the skin. This stimulates certain acupuncture points which are located either on the body or scalp of the child, sending messages to the various systems of the brain and body including the nervous system, endocrine and immune systems, cardiovascular and digestive system.
When the body is in balance, we experience good mental and physical health but when out of balance we become deficient or blocked and development becomes stunted.
By identifying where these pathologies lie and by stimulating certain acupuncture points, the mental and physical health can begin to restore allowing the developmental process to start where it left off.
This treatment is usually very simple and as quick as a pin prick, so the child doesn’t need to lay still.
The treatment can be given whilst sitting on parent /caregiver’s lap.
